Today marks the tenth time I’ve posted an article since this blog began. Compared to other online blogs, 10 may not seem like much, but it’s an important step in reaching my goal of helping you become a smarter consumer of legal services.

In my previous postings I’ve spent a lot of time discussing issues you might face if you’ve been in an auto accident or experienced an injury on the job.

What I haven’t done is spend much time discussing what Walker & Walker Legal Network at 1800-THE-LAW2 stands for or the person who founded the company.

As I’ve mentioned before, I am a participating attorney member of Walker & Walker Legal Network at 1-800-THE-LAW2. I believe it to be an excellent legal network or I wouldn’t be a part of it.

Walker & Walker Legal Network at 1800-THE-LAW2 was founded in 1985 by Maryann Walker I’ve worked with Maryann since 2002, and it’s been a pleasure. .

You probably recognize Maryann. She appears in the company’s television commercials. Despite the fine job she does on TV, she’ll be the first to tell you she’s no actor. The reason she doesn’t hire one is simple: Maryann knows no actor will ever speak as passionately or be as dedicated as she is in helping you get equal access to expert legal services.

Maryann also understands you want to get what you’re promised in the TV commercials—an expert attorney to protect your legal rights. As the person who runs Walker & Walker Legal Network at 1800-THE-LAW2, she’s here to make sure that happens.

Every attorney member in the legal network is prescreened (Yes, I was too). They are licensed to practice law in California and are a member of the State Bar in good standing. Has Maryann ever turned down an attorney who wanted to be part of the network? Yes. And she’ll do it again if her standards are not met.

When you call 1800-THE-LAW2, the questions the customer service associates ask are designed to help you get the best attorney for your legal situation. Which means if you need an auto accident attorney you won’t get one who specializes in bankruptcy.

Cost is always something you must consider before calling an attorney. That’s why, in most instances, there are no out-of-pocket costs for using Walker & Walker Legal Network at 1-800-THE-LAW.

Even the phone call to 1-800-THE-LAW2 is free. It’s a small thing, but if you’ve been in an auto accident or had an injury at work, you’re already facing a pile of medical bills or having to pay to get your car repaired, and your life needs to be kept simple.

Your opinion matters. Telling Maryann what you think of your experience with1-800-THE-LAW2 is the best way for her to provide you even better service. Not only does she want you to be a client for life. But she wants you to be so satisfied with your experience, you happily tell your friends and family about it.

Whether you’re a new reader of this blog or you’ve read all nine blogs before this one, I’d also like to hear from you. You can reach me at bcohen@walkeradvertising.com.

Maintaining high standards isn’t easy or convenient. But the mission of 1-800-THE-LAW2 is to help individuals get unparalleled access to high quality legal services. And maintaining the company’s high standards is the only way to do that.

I look forward to hearing from you.

. Our sole job is to not a legal referral service. What that means is we receive

As a legal network we will connect you to an expert attorney who can help you with your legal situation.

, what you will get is connected to an expert attorney.

when you call a law firm that advertises on TV.

Let’s say it’s a Tuesday. While driving to work you have an auto accident. Or let’s say you are injured while on the job.

After you get any medical attention, you decide that you need legal help.

Who do you call? A law firm or a legal network?

First, let’s start with what both have in common.

Both are designed to provide advice to you (the client), about your legal rights and responsibilities, and to represent clients in civil or criminal cases.

Here is a key difference. It’s called a referrel.

When you call a legal network like Walker & Walker Legal Network at 1-800-THE-LAW2 a representative will ask you a series of questions to help match you with a lawyer who is an expert in the area of law you need help with.

Law Firm Law & Legal Definition
A law firm is an association of lawyers who practice law. It is a business entity formed by one or more lawyers to engage in the practice of law. Usually, the members of a law firm share clients and profits. Traditionally, the law firms were partnerships. Currently, the law firms are organized in a variety of ways, depending on the jurisdiction in which the firm practices. Sole proprietorship, general partnership, professional corporations, limited liability company, professional association, and limited liability partnership are some of the common arrangements. Many law firms have a hierarchical structure. The partners (shareholders) supervise the senior associates (senior lawyers) who in turn supervise their associates (junior lawyers). The law firms also employ paralegals to help them. The associates are usually employed on a track to partnership.
Law firms provide legal services to individuals and corporations. The primary service provided by a law firm is to advise clients about their legal rights and responsibilities, and to represent their clients in civil or criminal cases, business transactions and other matters in which legal assistance is sought. Legal services are an important consideration for any individual or business owners who often face a number of legal hurdles.

What is a Referral Fee?
Sometimes when an attorney has accepted your case he or she might refer you to another attorney who is more experienced with your particular case. When this happens, your first attorney sometimes asks for a portion of the total fee. The practice of charging referral fees is prohibited in certain states unless the first attorney did some work, the client knew about the arrangement and the total fee is reasonable.
