Falls in Public Places

Each year, approximately three million people visit emergency rooms for slip and fall related accidents, with the most common injuries involving the head, neck and back. Slip and fall accidents are not limited to work environments, but often times these kinds of accidents take place in public areas as well.

If you or someone you love suffered a serious injury in a slip and fall accident—whether at work, a place of business, or even a private residence—you have the right to hold responsible parties accountable for your losses. Let an experienced personal injury or an experienced accident injury attorney member of  Walker & Walker Legal Network evaluate your case and help you obtain the compensation you deserve. In 2004, there were over 8,000,000 injury related emergency room visits from unintentional slip and falls in the United States. The incidence of unintentional falls requiring emergency services in 2004 is slightly higher for females than males.7

Many slip and fall accidents are actually preventable, caused by dangerous conditions such as:

  • Torn carpeting
  • Poor lighting
  • Narrow stairs
  • Wet or slippery floor
  • Uneven pavement
  • Potholes
  • Lack of handrails
