The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported that 529 DUI arrests were made this Memorial Day weekend, between 12:01 a.m. on Friday and midnight on Sunday. The arrests were made as part of an “Avoid the 100 Los Angeles County DUI Campaign,” which involves officers from over 100 agencies making DUI arrests.

If you were one of those arrested in Los Angeles this weekend for drunk driving, it’s critical that you talk to a Los Angeles DUI lawyer right away. You may think you can’t afford one, but think about whether you can afford to get charged for the maximum DUI penalties.

In L.A., the penalties for drunk driving are no joke – especially if it’s not your first offense. If you’re over 21 and get arrested for driving under the influence, it could result in jail time from 4 days up to a year, expensive fines from up to $18,000, the suspension of your license and, in some counties, the installation of an Interlock Ignition Device in your car.

Can you afford to take that risk?

With a Los Angeles DUI lawyer on your side, the charges could be reduced or even dismissed. Our Los Angeles DUI lawyers use a variety of defense strategies to help you get the best results possible from your case.

Depending on the circumstances of your case, a DUI lawyer could examine the police reports and arrest procedures, as well as the procedures for measuring blood alcohol content to look for missteps or violations of your rights. There are many effective strategies a lawyer could use to help mitigate harsh penalties. But unless you have a lawyer with the expertise and resources to do this kind of work, your chances of achieving an outcome you can live with are very low.

Public defenders are notoriously busy, with few resources and many clients. When you hire a Los Angeles DUI lawyer, you can be assured that he or she will fight for you, using the best means possible.

But don’t take our word for it, talk to a Los Angeles DUI lawyer yourself. Call us and we’ll put you in touch with one right away: 1-800-THE-LAW2.
